In some circumstances, the Overbridge Engine can have trouble finding the device if you are running macOS.

  1. Download and install the latest version of Overbridge.

  2. Download and install the latest version of the Elektron device OS.

  3. Set your Elektron device to Overbridge mode. For more information please see the User Manual for your device.

  4. Make sure the USB cable is connected correctly.

If the problem still persists you might have to unblock the Overbridge driver

UNBLOCKING THE DRIVER

Start the Overbridge engine and check there if your Elektron device is visible. Overbridge Engine starts automatically when your computer starts unless you have disabled this function in the Control Panel. Overbridge Engine shows up as a tray icon in macOS.

If you don’t see your Elektron device in the Overbridge Engine, then do the following:

  1. Reboot your computer. (The option of unblocking a driver disappears 30 minutes after the machine has been connected to your computer).

  2. Go to System Preferences, Security & Privacy.

  3. Here at the bottom, the driver will show up as blocked and that it needs permission to run.

  4. Click the allow button to unblock the driver.

  5. Restart your DAW and verify that the VST/AU loads and have a connection

If the dialog box is still not showing or the allow button is not clickable it can be because of macOS security features that don't allow some software that can manipulate the mouse, keyboard clicks or screen sharing to be active. Examples of software that causes this behavior includes:

macOS Screen Sharing, Apple Remote Desktop, VNC, TeamViewer, MagicPrefs, BetterTouchTool, Synergy, Screens, Share Mouse

If you cant see the dialog box, try to uninstall this software.

Sometimes, some keyboards, mice, Wacom tablets or MIDI keyboards/devices might also need to be unplugged to solve this issue.
